Reading "Night" by Elie
Wiesel, made me feels very upset. Some parts of the book were shocking and so
cruel it makes me mad, how much more do they want the Jews to do? Why do they
treat them so poor? it makes me feel so aggravated I sometimes don't even want
to read the book anymore. Only one word that goes through my head when reading
this is unfair, unfair, unfair. Everything is just so unfair. So far in the book
Elie and his parents are moved to Auschwitz a
concentration camp and Elie is with his father and the mother and sister are
separated from them because they are girls. They have to work unless they want
to go to the chimney (where they get burned if they don't do what they are
asked to do). For me over all this is unfair, cruel, bias, unreasonable and so
much more!!
One
reason why this is cruel is because in the book it said "a truck drew
close and unloaded its hold: children, babies! Yes, I did see this, with my own
eyes, children being thrown into the flames. (Is it any wonder that ever since
then, sleep tends to elude me?)" This made me put down my book and take a
break. How is it possible to burn such young children and babies!!! Especially
babies! How is it even possible to burn people when you are a person yourself!
I found this part so disturbing and heartbreaking it made me want to cry just
imagining all these innocent humans being burned into ashes.
Another reason
why I think these people are cruel is because in the book it said that the
father was slapped really hard when he asked for bathroom, instead of being
strict why can’t they take a moment and explain the rules huh? Is it that hard
to explain some rules for living and working in this place that all these
people are new to? They don’t know anything about this place just yet. It takes
time to get to know a place better and be used to it. Also in the book
Mrs.Schachter was beaten for saying "fire fire! Flames!" out of no
where while people were silent. Yes I know its annoying when a person out of no
where yells out something so many times that’s not true, but she wasn’t doing
that for fun. Mrs. Schachter was going mad because she’s separated from her
husband and sons. It’s not her fault that she’s going crazy. I know it’s hard
to tolerate that but its better to calm her instead of beating her.
Reading this makes me go
crazy because I hate how they are threatened. They have to work and if they don’t
them will be put in the chimney to burn. And it gets me upset that Elie and all
the others there have to be separated from their families. It would be much easier
to get through hard times like this with the family. When you’re separated from
your family difficult moments get even harder.
It sickens me that the Jews were treated so badly, and how they were degraded to nothing but dirt. I admire on how you elaborated on you're deep thoughts very much.
